10+ Years of Out-of-School Time Program Evaluation

Jan 4th 2023

A&O has extensive experience supporting K-12 clients to design, deliver, and evaluate high quality after-school programs grants. We’ve been conducting evaluations for 21st-Century Learning and Extended Day / School Violence Prevention programs for over a decade.

These federally- and state-funded programs offer tutoring, academic enrichment, and a broad array of youth development opportunities before and after school to complement schools’ regular academic programming. They feature partnerships between school districts and community-based organizations, and they target students from high-poverty neighborhoods and attending low-performing schools.

The A&O team serves a portfolio of twenty school districts throughout New York state, including the Catskill region (fourteen districts), Watervliet City School District, Utica City Schools, Albany City School District, Oneida City Schools, and Syracuse City School District. Although all programs share common goals and objectives, the community-based partners and structure of each vary considerably.
